Global warming mysteries

For now, I’m not a believer in human-caused global warming. Yeah, the earth is heating up in some areas, and some of that may be due to human activities. But I’m not convinced that we’re on our way to hell in a handbasket. Or even to an ice age.

This NPR article provides more to consider:

    Whoa!

A fellow skeptic! Foreign Affairs has a great article on the opening arctic sea. The possibilities for more trade and fuel savings are tremendous, not to mention possible independence for Greenland!

    Is this the article?

    This statement caught my attention:

“The Arctic has always experienced cooling and warming, but the current melt defies any historical comparison. It is dramatic, abrupt, and directly correlated with industrial emissions of greenhouse gases.”

    Maybe.

But, yes, it is a very interesting article!

I am not pointing to the science of the article, rather the opportunity presented by the change in climate in the area. I am very doubtful of AGW (anthropogenic global warming) but I believe we are in the midst of some warming cycle (solar induced, naturally cyclical, who knows). I do not believe that the science is settled by any means and I really detest individuals who contend that it is…

    Hi CD,
Yes, I understood your comment. (I like to add links to stuff I find in order to record my research, and to provide more food for thought for anyone who stumbles upon this blog.)

I’m with you! I don’t think the issue is settled at all. This is true about so many areas.

The science and politics surrounding climate change is really messy. Have you seen this?

    No, I haven’t seen it.
